ELGIN — Wolfpack wrestlers claimed their first team championship at a tournament Saturday when they won the 18th annual Elgin Wrestling Invitational.
The Wolfpack amassed 104 points to claim the championship. Hartington Cedar Catholic was second with 100 points followed by MadisonJV 98.5, Nebraska Christian 95.5, Clearwater/Orchard 93, Aurora JV 89, Boone Central JV 73, Ponca 73 and O’Neill JV 51.
Brett Kinney and Shane Beckman won their weight classes. Tyler Childers brought home a second place medal. Finishing third in his weight class was Shane Vanis. Other medalists were Jace Lammers and Alex Grosserode (fourth place) and Trent Bauer (sixth place) in their weight classes.
