Wolfpack wrap up track season

BASSETT — One inch.
That’s all that separated Wolfpack freshman Lexi Bode from a trip to the Nebraska State Track & Field Championships.
Competing Friday at the D-4 District Track Meet, Bode competed in her specialty the high jump. She cleared 4’10, but couldn’t clear 4-11” (the automatic state qualifying height) in three tries, barely missing on her final attempt. She ended up finishing fourth.
Earlier in the day, Bode finished fourth in the triple jump while junior Faith Kinney placed fifth.
Other Wolfpack girls who placed at the track meet were:
• Junior Haley Zegers took fourth in the 400 meter dash
• Sophomore Theanna Dunn placed fifth in the 200 meter dash
• The 1600 meter relay team (Zegers, Dunn, Bode & Kirsten Krebs) finished third.
For the Wolfpack boys team, just three boys competed at the meet (Joey Getzfred, Jordan Lindgren and Colton Wright). Wright turned in the best effort, finishing ninth in the 400 meter dash.
