O’NEILL — Having shown they were one of the top two teams in the NVC, the Elgin Public-Pope John Wolfpack volleyball team saw their postseason come to an abrupt end in the first round of sub-district play.
Squaring off against Crofton, the Wolfpack won the first game 25-18, then dropped the next three by the scores of 15-25, 22-25 and 20-25.
Playing the match without senior Michelle Bauer who suffered a knee injury in the NVC championship game, the Wolfpack couldn’t overcome Crofton’s momentum as the match wore on.
