Wolfpack Tracksters Compete Well at Neligh-Oakdale Invite

PLAINVIEW — It was thrilling to the finish for the Wolfpack boys 3200 meter relay team Tuesday at the Neligh-Oakdale Invitational track meet.
Falling behind early, the Wolfpack came on strong in the final leg of the relay to overtake Humphrey and win the race. Blake Schrage ran the final leg of the relay and held off a determined Humphrey runner to preserve the victory.
For the Wolfpack girls, their best finish came in the 3200 meter relay. The team of Ashley Bode, Marin Heithoff, Courtney Schumacher and Taylor Schumacher finished second in a time of 11:00.2.
The Wolfpack girls team finished third behind meet winner Lindsay Holy Family with 163 points followed by Plainview 97, Wolfpack 69, Neligh-Oakdale 53, Osmond 49, Humphrey 34, Newman Grove 30 and Elkhorn Valley 26.
The Wolfpack boys placed seventh among eight teams at the track meet. Neligh-Oakdale won the boys title with 91 points followed by Osmond 88, Lindsay Holy Family 88, Newman Grove 84, Humphrey 49, Plainview 43, Wolfpack 42 and Elkhorn Valley 42.
