Wolfpack Hammer CWC Renegades 36 to 0

ELGIN — The Wolfpack football team made two things abundantly clear Friday night in a 36 to 0 victory over Chambers/Wheeler Central. One, they have a potent offense; and Two, the defense is ‘salty’.
Playing their second game of the season, the Wolfpack built a dominating lead at halftime, then finished off the game by holding their opponent scoreless. It marked the Wolfpack’s second shutout of the season.
Getting the ball first to start the game, the Wolfpack went 65 yards to score in nine plays. Austin Heying offered some ‘lightning’ to start the game with a 31-yard run. He had 44 yards rushing in the drive. Teammate Blake Anderson added some ‘thunder’ with powerful runs from his fullback position, the last being a one-yard touchdown run. Quarterback Ross Schindler added the two-point conversion for the game’s first score, just over four minutes into the game.
To their credit, the Renegades showed some flashes of big plays on their own as Dylan Rasmussen had a 16-yard run for a first down. When the Wolfpack got the ball back, they again went 65 yards for a touchdown. Schindler broke free on a quarterback keeper and went 40 yards to score. He added the two-point PAT to push the score to 16 to 0.
