Wolfpack Golfers Win NVC Title

EWING — Coach Jake Sladky’s Wolf-pack golf team is putting together a season to remember. On Tuesday, April 24, the Wolfpack claimed the championship of the Niobrara Valley Conference.
Playing at Summerland, the Wolfpack shot a team score of 320, 30 strokes better than Ewing at 350. North Central lost a playoff with Ewing to finsih third at 350. Other team scores were Clearwater/Orchard 371, Niobrara/Verdigre 385, Chambers/Wheeler Central 420, West Boyd 430 and Santee (no team score).
Wolfpack senior Evan Parks played his best 18 holes of golf to claim medalist honors with a score of 39/38 77. Teammate Nick Heithoff finished second with a 40/39 79. Taking third was the Wolfpack’s Tyler Childers with an 40/41 81. Other Wolfpack medal winners were Andrew Heithoff, seventh with an 41/42 83. The other varsity Wolfpack golfer, Kyle Heithoff, shot a 49/45 94.
The Wolfpack had two JV golfers win medals. They were Trent Hoefer, 12th with an 45/43 88 and Preston Schrage, 13th with an 43/43 88. Teammate Austin Starman shot a 47/44 91.
