Wolfpack Golfers Place Second at Highway 20 Invite

BASSETT — Competing Monday at the Highway 20 Invite, the Wolfpack golf team continued their string of impressive team performances.
One of the best high school teams in the area, they have consistently placed at the top of the leaderboard at the meets they have competed in  and Monday was no esception.
Valentine won the team title with a score of 312. The Wolfpack came in second at 322 followed by Ainsworth 342, West Holt 347, Orchard/Clearwater 354, North Central 359, Boyd County 369, Neligh-Oakdale 379, O’Neill 380and Niobrara-Verdigre 1289.
Valentine’s Cameron Bancroft was medalist with an 18-hole score of 71. The Wolfpack had four golfers place in the top 15. They were Andrew Heithoff, fifth place with a score of 78, Kyle Heithoff, eighth with an 80, Nick Heithoff, 10th with an 82; and Trent Hoefer, 13th also with an 82.
No other information was available from Coach Jake Sladky as the team headed Tuesday to a tournament at Fullerton.
