ELGIN — Starting slow, the Elgin Wolfpack took over in the second quarter and blew out Ewing 44 to 28 in girls basketball action Friday night.
The game proved to be a physical contest and the Wolfpack got the better of it after a slow start.
“The girls came out with a slow start, but picked up the intensity level in the second half and played some good basketball,” Coach Randy Eisenhauer said.
Ewing (4-8) jumped out to a 10 to six lead in the first quarter as Laura Hynes had four points. The Wolfpack kept it close as as freshman Stephanie Bode scored four of her nine points in the opening period.
