Wolfpack Girls Finish Season 14-11

Once again the Elgin Public-Pope John Wolfpack girls basketball team produced a winning season on the hardcourt.
Coach Randy Eisenhauer’s team posted a 14-11 record under coach Randy Eisenhauer. The team saw their season come to an end when they, the top-seed, were upset in the sub-district finals by Lutheran High Northeast. “We had a lot of positives throughout the year and also broke more Lady Wolfpack records,” Eisenhauer said. “The girls did a great job throughout the year. Chelsi (Mescher) and Sydney (Schumacher) were great leaders and will be missed next year.”
Statistically, they were led in scoring by senior Mescher who averaged 14.6 points per game, junior Stephanie Bode averaged 13.0 points per game during the season.
Of players who attempted 50 or more field goal attempts during the season, Bode led the team in two-point field goal percentage (46 percent). Mescher and freshman Jenna Parks tied for the team-high in three-point field goal percentage (33 percent). Bode led the team in free throw percentage (74 percent).
Bode pulled down 208 rebounds during the season, Mescher had 192. Bode was tops in offensive rebounds with 77 while Mescher led in defensive rebounds with 145.
Mescher dished out a team-high 54 assists during the 25-game season, just over two per game. She was also the team-leader in steals with 70, Bode had 67 and Parks recorded 52.
Schumacher led the team in blocked shots with five.
