Wolfpack Finishes Second at NVC Volleyball Tournament

O’NEILL — Playing arguably their best match of the season, Elgin Public-Pope John went five games before losing to Chambers Wheeler Central (CWC) in the championship match of the NVC Volleyball Tournament.

The Wolfpack lost the match by the scores of 25-18, 18-25, 25-23, 23-25 and 7-15.

In an epic confrontation, momentum switched back and forth throughout the match as the Wolfpack gave their opponent everything they could handle and more.

The outcome of the match may have turned late in the fourth game when senior hitter Michelle Bauer went down with an apparent knee injury with CWC leading 24 to 23. They went on to win the game and then pulled away in the final game with Bauer on the bench.
