Wine Tasting Event Draws Big Crowd

Approximately 200 persons turned out Friday evening to take part in a wine tasting event held to raise funds in support of St. Boniface Elementary School.

The Friends of St. Boniface sponsored the event, held at the Knights of Columbus Hall.

Jim’s Fine Wines of Norfolk presented four wines for the wine and cheese tasting.

It was pointed out how more wines are being created in Nebraska due to the soil and rolling hills with water within reach. Add to that brisk winds to keep unwanted intruders away, it all makes Nebraska an ideal location for growing grapes for award-winning wines.

White wines sampled on this night were Dr. Loosen Riesling and IL Cuore Chardonnay. Red wines sampled were Serena Red and Campus Oaks Old Vine Zinfandel.
