Wheeler County Fair to Feature Steak Cookoff

Eight teams will be vying for the top spot in the Second Annual B-B Que Cook-off competition at the Wheeler County Fair.The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 6, at the Wheeler County Fair Grounds in Bartlett, beginning at 4 p.m.  Cost for the meal, which includes your ticket to the rodeo, will be $8 per plate if you buy before August 1, or $10 at the door on Saturday night.

The public will have a chance to vote for their favorite chef to receive the Peoples Choice Award. A panel of judges will decide on the winners of the first and second place teams to receive cash prizes and an apron.

Plan to attend this fun event and vote for your favorite grill master and be sure to buy your tickets early so that your name will be included in the drawings for one of the many prizes donated by businesses around the area.

At this time we have a signed NU football donated by Cornerstone Bank of Bartlett.

Tickets may be purchased from the following businesses: in Bartlett — Cornerstone Bank, WE Mart, Bibs-and Boots, in Ericson — Ericson State Bank, Ranch Café and the M & M, and in Elgin– Sapp Bros. Petroleum and Dean’s Market.
