Vetch Days Parade Route Changed

More events were announced this week for the upcoming Vetch Days celebration.

The Elgin Community Club met Monday night at the Steel Steed Steakhouse & Saloon to discuss that and other activities which will dot the summer calendar.

President Jeremy Young said the dates for the celebration are June 27-29.

One of the biggest developments from the meeting involved the Vetch Days Parade which will be held the evening of June 28. Bev Clark pointed out how new regulations being imposed by the Nebraska Department of Roads creates some liability issues regarding having the parade route go down Second Street (Highway 14). As a result, club members agreed to change the parade route. The parade will continue to line up at Elgin City Park and head west. It will then turn south on Third Street and finish at Bowen Street.

After the parade, the Q125 committee are planning an ice cream social.

The Vetch Days Parade is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
