I am so touched by the outpouring of kindness from the Petersburg, Elgin, Albion and surrounding communities for your prayers, masses, lit candles, cards, letters, encouraging words, gifts, meals, purchase of bracelets ,curling iron covers and generosity to me and my family over the past several years while waiting for and receiving my double lung transplant. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

To the Petersburg Volunteer Fire Department, thank you for hosting the Breakfast Benefit on my behalf.  You are so thoughtful to think of me. Thanks to Rae Valley Market, Petersburg State Bank, Dean’s Market, Albion Thriftway, Petersburg Press/Albion News and Steve Stokes-Pioneer Seeds for your generous donations to the breakfast.   Also, thank you to all that came to the breakfast or sent donations.

Thank you to Pope John High School for your masses, prayers, Friday dress-down fundraiser and to my classmates of Pope John Class of 1982 for your gift basket, cards, notes and the generosity you have shown to me.  Overdue thanks to the classes of 1982, 1997,1998,1984,1989 and 2002 for your donations from your winnings at the softball tournament in 2008 and all others that donated.

It has been so wonderful to take clear, deep breaths.  My life is so different now and I enjoy being home with my new health.  I am still in awe that God has been so good to me and given me this miracle. Although I don’t know anything about my donor, I will forever be grateful to my donor’s family for this unbelievable gift and hope they find comfort in knowing that their loved one lives on.

I also want to express my gratitude to Bruce, Megan, Jared, Mom (Helen), Schumacher’s and Wilkinson’s for all you have done for me.  This journey would have been impossible without all of you and your love.

I am so fortunate to have so many wonderful, caring people in my life. You will never know how much it has meant to me.  May God Bless you always.
