ELGIN — The Wolfpack jumped out to an eight-point lead to start the game, then saw the Broncos gallup their way back to claim a 38 to 31 victory Friday night.
The game was close well into the fourth quarter before Stuart pulled away to gain the victory. For the Wolfpack, the night was a case of ‘what might have beens’ as victory slipped through their hands.
Having won just two games this season, the Wolfpack appeared ready to handle the Broncos on this night as they roared out to an early 8 to zero lead midway through the first quarter. The lead was courtesy of two treys from Evan Parks and a deuce from Corey Schindler. A basket by Caleb Pelster late in the quarter made the score 10 to five.
