Two contestants tied for the top spot in the first week of the Elgin Review Football Contest.
Jack Stoltz and Phil Starman, both from Elgin, missed just two games in the opening week of the college football season.
In the tiebreaker, Stoltz guessed 551 total yards for Nebraska and Western Kentucky, Starman didn’t predict the total yards.
As a result, Stoltz will win the $25 Elgin Bucks’ first place prize. Starman will receive the $15 Elgin Bucks runner-up prize.

Entries for the next contest are due at the newspaper office by 5 p.m. Friday.
Out-of-town entries must be postmarked no later than Friday to be eligible for the contest. Good luck!
