Wrestlers Place Second at Gibbon Invite

GIBBON — Competing at the Bill Foster Gibbon Invitational Wrestling Tournament Saturday, Wolfpack wrestlers earned six medals.

“We wr4estled well,” Coach Doug Jones said about the tournament. “It was good to see some different teams. The majority of the teams were Class C so we were pleased to finish as runner-up.”

Wood River won the tournament with 260 points followed by the Wolfpack with 99. Other team scores were Ord 77, Thayer Central 77, Ravenna 75, Kearney Catholic 69, Gibbon 63, Franklin 56.5, Boone Central 51, Harvard 27 and Southern Valley 21.

Leading the medal parade for the Wolfpack were Nathan Anderson who won the 135-pound weight class. In the finals, he defeated R.J. DeLeon of Wood River by a six to one score.
