Wolfpack Scores 68 Against N/V Cougars

VERDIGRE — For a few minutes, Niobrara-Verdigre was close to staying with the Wolfpack on the gridiron. But, that was only for a few minutes as the white-and-black clad scoring machine rolled to a 68 to 20 victory Friday afternoon.
Blake Anderson scored three touchdowns and teammate Ross Schindler added two as the Wolfpack overpowered their opponent with a punishing ground game.
The Wolfpack (5-0) capped the opening drive of the game with an Anderson three-yard run.
The Cougars’ Mark Vondracek answered back just seconds later. Fielding the kickoff on his own five-yard line, Vondracek did something no opposing player has done to the Wolfpack this season, returning the kickoff 75 yards for a touchdown.
The score seemed to light a fire in the heart of Wolfpack players as they scored 46 unanswered points in the remainder of the first half.
