Wolfpack Qualify Three for State Track

ATKINSON — The Wolfpack varsity track team qualified three to take part in the State Track & Field Championships later this week at Burke Stadium in Omaha.
Competing Thursday in Class C Districts at West Holt High School, Wolfpack athletes qualified in six events.
Leading the way was underclassmen Blake Schrage.
In the finals of the 110 meter high hurdles, Schrage bested the field, winning in a time of 16.5 seconds. He came back later in the evening to qualify for state in the 300 meter intermediate hurdles, finishing second with a time of 42.30 seconds.
Jill Schindler qualified for two events at state. She finished second in the 100 meter dash in a time of 13.20 seconds. Then, in the 200 meter dash, she placed second again with a time of 28.10 seconds. The top two finishers in each individual event qualify for the state meet.
Senior Zach Polk qualified for state in the discus, finishing second with a best throw of 148-3. In the high jump, he finished second, clearing 5-8 to qualify for state.
