Wolfpack Pound Plainview Pirates

PLAINVIEW — The Wolfpack powered their way through Plainview’s defense Friday night en route to a 42 to 16 victory.
Mother Nature doused any hopes the winless Pirates (0-7) had of derailing the Wolfpack’s playoff hopes at the start of the game, A shower from the west dampened the field as a ‘Bad Moon’ rose on the east horizon, providing perfect conditions for EPPJ to impose their will upon the winless Pirates.
The Wolfpack accumulated 362 yards rushing and the game’s outcome was never in doubt after the second quarter.
Entering the quarter the Wolfpack held a 6-0 lead as a result of a Blake Schrage 14-yard touchdown run. Nine seconds into the quarter the Wolfpack took advantage of a Pirates fumble to score their second touchdown on the night. Pirate Christian Miller mishandled the ball and the Wolfpack’s Peter Starman recovered the ball. Fifty yards away from the end zone, Schrage covered the distance in one play to make the score 12 to 0. The touchdown opened the ‘floodgates’ as the Wolfpack added two more touchdowns in the quarter.
