Wolfpack Golfers Take Third At Ewing Invite

EWING — Two Wolfpack golfers placed among the top 10 individuals competing Wednesday at the Ewing Golf Invitational.
Junior Kyle Heithoff finished ninth and freshman Chad Bode placed 10 in the individual competition at Summerland Golf Course.
Heithoff, showing some of the form last year when he competed at the State Golf Tournament, shot a 43 on both the front and back nine to finish with an 18-hole score of 86.
Bode, competing in his first year as a varsity golfer, shot a front nine 40, then finished with a 47 on the back nine for an 18-hole score of 87.
Medalist for the tournament was Brandon Clausen who finished with an 83, one stroke better than teammate Devon Lockman with an 84. Norfolk Catholic had the top three golfers at the tournament. They won the team title with a score of 338, 12 strokes better than second place West Holt at 350.
The Wolfpack finished third in the team standings with 376. Other team scores were Orchard/Clearwater 381, O’Neill 386, Ainsworth 394, Ewing 395, Osmond 401, Boyd County 404 and CWC 421.
No team score was recorded for Elkhorn Valley, Niobrara/Verdigre, North Central and Santee schools.
For EPPJ, Regan Kerkman shot a 52-48 100. Other Wolfpack golf scores were Miles Schrage 51-52 103, and Jack Borer 60-57 117.
