Wolfpack Girls Top Plainview, Fall to Cedar Valley

PLAINVIEW — Three players scored all of the points Friday night in the Wolfpack’s 43 to 41 victory over Plainview in girls basketball action.
Down 30 to 25 at halftime, the Wolfpack turned on the defensive pressure and shut down the Lady Pirates’ offense in the second half. After allowing 30 points in the first two quarters, the Wolfpack surrendered just 11 points in the second half.
At the other end of the floor, the Wolfpack generated just enough offense to gain the victory.
Senior Chelsi Mescher had her best game of the season, so far, scoring 26 points. Teammate Stephanie Bode added 14 and freshman guard Jenna Parks tossed in three.
“The girls did a great job of battling back and coming away with a win,” Coach Randy Eisenhauer said. “Chelsi had a great night of shooting and rebounding as she led us with a double-double.” Mescher pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds in the game.
Kami Johnson led Plainview (1-2) with 19 points.
