WOLFPACK GIRLS DROP THREE AT TOURNEY

The Wolfpack varsity volleyball team dropped three matches Saturday at the CWC Volleyball Tournament.
Having dropped a tough five-game match to Creighton Thursday night, the Wolfpack came up short Saturday in matches against CWC, Cedar Valley and Humphrey/LHF.
Against CWC, the Wolfpack lost by the scores of 25-20 and 25-15.
Statistical leaders for the Wolfpack were Liz Selting with four ace serves. She led the team in serve receive with 16, Nikki Beckman had eight.
Taylor Schumacher recorded a team-high three set assists.
At the net the Wolfpack had just six kills in the match. Jenna Parks and Selting each had two kills, Madi Voborny and Corin Pelster each had one.
Beckman led the team in digs with seven, Mallory Fangman had four. Selting had the team’s only solo block.
Against Cedar Valley, the Wolfpack came out on the short end of the scoreboard, dropping the match 25-18 and 25-12.
Baylee Wemhoff and Selting were each credited with one ace serve in the match. Fangman led the team in serve receive with 17, Beckman had 10.
Wemhoff had six of the team’s nine set assists. At the net the Wolfpack had 10 kills in the match, led by Parks with five and Selting with two.
Beckman led the team in digs with four, Fangman had three.
Humphrey/LHF defeated the Wolfpack 25-19 and 25-9.
Fangman and Beckman tied for the lead in serve receive with six apiece. The Wolfpack had just six set assists in the match, Parks led with three and Beckman had two.
EPPJ hitters had eight kills in the match. Parks led with three, Selting had two and three others had one apiece.
Schumacher led the team in digs with four, Fangman had three.
The losses dropped EPPJ’s record to 2-7.
The Wolfpack varsity will host a triangular (at Pope John) on Thursday, Sept. 26. The Wolfpack will play Cedar Valley at 5 p.m., then play the night cap against Nebraska Christian at 7:30 p.m.
On Saturday, Sept. 28, the Wolfpack will host another triangular (at EPS). At 3 p.m. the Wolfpack will play West Holt; at 5 p.m. the Wolfpack will face off against Plainview.
