Wolfpack Boys Roll Past Shamrocks

SPALDING — Trailing early, Elgin Public-Pope John roared back in the second half to defeat Spalding Academy 56 to 39 in boys basketball action last week.Playing on the Shamrocks’ home court, the Wolfpack trailed 24 to 20 to start the second half. Over the next eight minutes, the Wolfpack arguably played their best quarter of the season, erupting for 19 points and limiting the Shamrocks to just two. The 17-point differential was the largest for the Wolfpack against any opponent so far this season.
Leading the scoring parade was senior Kyle Kallhoff. He finished with 19 points, making six of 11 shots from the field including three treys and all four free throw attempts.
