Wolfpack Boys Fall to N/V In Season Opener

VERDIGRE — Friday night was opening night for the Wolfpack boys basketball team. For their opponent, Niobrara-Verdigre it was their second game of the season. The Cougars capitalized on the experience gained from the extra game to claim a 58 to 38 victory over EPPJ.
In the third quarter, Niobrara-Verdigre took control of the game. The Cougars held the Wolfpack scoreless for the first 4:16 of the third quarter, outscoring the Wolfpack 12 to zero during that time span to break open the game.
Freshman Chad Bode ended the dry spell for the Wolfpack with a deuce at the 3:44 mark of the quarter. Jack Borer added a trey and Scott Moser added another basket to account for the Wolfpack’s sum total of seven points in the quarter.
