Coaches Named For NE Nebraska All-Star Football Classic

Joe Anderson of Oakland-Craig and Jeff Bellar of Norfolk Catholic have been named head coaches for the 2nd Annual Red vs. White Northeast Nebraska All-Star Football Classic, according to Mike Fuehrer, Sports Development Manager for the Norfolk Area Sports Council.
Both Anderson, who will be the head coach for the White Team, and Bellar, who will be the head coach for the Red Team, served as assistant coaches on last summer’s inaugural game at Veteran’s Memorial Field in Norfolk.
“The Board of Directors for the All-Star Classic are very excited to have Coach Anderson and Coach Bellar represent our two All-Star football teams,’’ Fuehrer said.
“The Board wants to name head coaches who served the previous year as an assistant coach. This will help us provide consistency year-in and year-out as we continue to showcase football in Northeast Nebraska.’’
Anderson’s assistant coaches will be Tom Olson of Norfolk High School, Andrew Carlson of Battle Creek, Rusty Droescher of Oakland-Craig, Jon Cerny of Bancroft-Rosalie and Dean Boyer of Plainview.
Bellar’s assistant coaches include Mark Brahmer of Pierce, Tony Hoffman of Crofton, Blair Kalin of Hartington High School, Mike Bivens of Norfolk Catholic and Terry Kathol of Hartington Cedar Catholic.
Fuehrer said the Board of Directors voted to have four head coaches and two assistant coaches represent each team.
