School tax levy in Lowest in Nebraska

The District #18 Board of Education can lay claim to being #1 across the state.
Meeting Wednesday night, Sept. 11, the board unanimously voted to approve the proposed 2019-2020 budget and tax levy.
According to Superintendent Dan Polk, the tax asking is nearly $175,000 below the tax asking of one year ago. He said, after visiting with the Nebraska Department of Education, the school district will have the lowest tax levy in the state.
Both public hearings were held in conjunction with the regular monthly meeting that night.
