School Board Approves First-Ever Early Retirement Incentive Program

At a special meeting Monday night, the District #18 Board of Education approved on final reading the offering of an Early Retirement Incentive Program (ERIP).
Similar packages have been offered to teachers in school districts across the state. However, Superintendent Dan Polk said this marks the first time it has been offered at District #18.
“Most schools have a policy like this in place as a benefit to staff or as a money saving measure for the district,” he said Tuesday morning.
