Donations have begun to come in for the 2016 Elgin Scholarship Drive.
Begun earlier this month, the scholarship drive benefits seniors from Elgin High School and Pope John XXIII Central Catholic.
New donations last week were received from Jeremy & Kimberly Young, John & Tracy Beckman, Dave & Janice Eischeid, Janie Score, Jerry & Millie Mundorf, Jim & Chris Redding, Sharon V. Wilkinson, and Charlie & Shelley Bode.
Donations raised during the fund drive will be used to finance scholarships for Elgin senior students graduating in May. This year, as in years past, the Elgin Area Community Foundation, who oversees the fund drive, will be able to get matching funds for all funds raised before April 30. The match is given by the Col. Barney Oldfield and Vada Kinman Trust.
Persons wishing to contribute to the scholarship fund can send their donations to Elgin Scholarship Drive c/o Elgin Area Community Foundation, P.O. Box 345, Elgin, NE 69636-0345.
