Descendents of the Ted and Francis (Preusser) Schmitt family gathered for their bi-annual reunion at the Plantation House in Elgin on July 4, 2009.
Approximately 200 people attended from Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Florida, Georgia, Wyoming, Kentucky, Kansas, Colorado, Arizona, South Dakota and Minnesota.
The Ted and Francis Schmitt families were represented by members of the Norbert, Clarence, Harold, Robert and William Schmitt families, along with Helen Getta, Irene McAlleer and Wilma Vanourney families. Many Preusser family members also attended.
Honored as the oldest family member attending was Clarence Schmitt of Wisner, NE, and the youngest member attending was Trevor Galle, son of Craig and Anna (Vanourney) Galle of Elkhorn, NE.
The next reunion will be hosted by Phil and Mary Sharp in Cheyene, WY, scheduled for July 2011.
