Rosamond M. Klein, 103 of Petersburg, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Society in Albion.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 20, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Petersburg with Rev. Mark Tomasiewicz officiating.
Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with a 7 p.m. Wake Service.

Rosamond Margaret Klein, daughter of Fred and Louise (Friedman) Spieker, was born July 15, 1914 at Carroll, IA. She moved with her family to a farm near Petersburg in 1917 and attended St. John’s Catholic School through the eighth grade.
On February 11, 1936, Rosie married Alphons I. Klein at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Raeville. To this union, four children were born: Walter, Darlene, Jerome and Harold. They lived and farmed in the Petersburg area before moving into Petersburg in 1965. Alphons passed away July 19, 1974.
Rosie was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Church and a member of St. John’s Altar Society. Crocheting was one of her favorite hobbies, along with spending time with her family and making ceramics. She always looked forward to Spring and spending time in her gardens of vegetables and flowers. She volunteered for 18 years at Petersburg Senior Center and was involved in the “Happy Kids Band”.
She is survived by her four children: Walter Klein of Petersburg; Darlene “Dolly” Schindler of Elgin; Jerry Klein of Blair, NE; Harold (Sharon) Klein of Neligh, NE; 11  grandchildren: Kert Klein and Krys (Amy) Klein of Sioux City, NE; Jim (Marla) Schindler, Laurie (Chris) Waterbury, Gary (Teresa) Schindler, Ken (Julie) Schindler, Wendy (Stan) Voborny, all of Elgin, Barb (Ernie) Foland of Fullerton, NE; Connie (Al) Maxiey of Denver, CO; Terrie (Larry) Walker of Bellevue, NE, and Guy LaChance; 15 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; four siblings: Bob (Laura Mae) Spieker, Linda Buelt, Fred Spieker and Florence Luettel; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Alphons; siblings: Agatha Richart, Mae Moser, Linus, Leroy, Lawrence and Cletus Spieker; son-in-law Gale Schindler and daughter-in-law Carolyn Klein (Jerry’s wife).
