Richard K. Iburg, 48, of St. Edward, NE passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at the Boone County Health Center in Albion, NE.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 6, 2018 at United Methodist Church, St. Edward, NE with Rev. Vernon Olson officiating.
Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery, St. Edward.
Visitation was held  Sunday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the family. Miller-Levander Funeral Home of St. Edward, NE is in charge of the arrangements.

Richard Keith Iburg, the son of Melvin Richard and Frances Florence (Pratt) Iburg, was born May 31, 1970 at Tilden, NE. Rich was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin in 1970.
He attended school at Elgin Public before moving with his family to St. Edward, NE where he attended and graduated from St. Edward High School in 1989.
Rich worked various jobs at Behlen Manufacturing, Lindsay Manufacturing, helped farmers around the area and most recently was helping his nephew.
While living in St. Edward, Rich met his soul mate of 22 years, Frankie Sutton. Rich enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, breaking and riding horses, watching hunting shows, and most of all, spending time with his “grandchildren” and many special nieces and nephews.
Rich was also an amazing artist, winning “Best of Show” and many other awards for his artwork and creations.
At the time of his death, Rich won the biggest fight of his life, being 208 days sober. Although he never had children himself, Rich was “Papa” to countless people,, related or not. He truly lived life to the fullest.
Rich is survived by the love of his life: Frankie Sutton of St. Edward, NE; mother: Frances Iburg of St. Edward, NE; two sisters: Janie (Rich) Beltz of Norfolk, NE and Sheila (Keith) Hoshor of St. Edward, NE; one brother: Gary (Tammy) Iburg of Belgrade, NE; special “grandchildren”: Jennifer, Nathan, KayLyn, and Emillie; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father: Melvin Richard Iburg; brother-in-law: Ric Zabka; and maternal and paternal grandparents.
