Raymond F. Dinslage, 93, formerly of Elgin, NE, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Neligh, NE.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 27, 2015 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Elgin, NE with Rev. Ross Burkhalter officiating. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 229 and VFW Post 5816 of Elgin. Visitation will be 6:00-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with a 7:30 p.m. wake service.

Raymond F. Dinslage, son of John and Anna (Baumert) Dinslage, was born June 1, 1922 on the family farm northeast of Elgin, NE. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Boniface Church in Elgin and attended St. Boniface School through the 8th grade. He farmed with his brothers until entering the United States Marine Corps in September 1942. He fought for his country in World War II and was honorably discharged in September 1945.
On July 30, 1945, Ray was united in marriage to Leora D. Roth at St. Boniface Church in Elgin, NE. They moved to San Francisco, CA where Ray was stationed for a short time before returning to Elgin where they farmed northeast of town. In 1966, they bought the Mobil filling station and moved to town in 1967, continuing to operate the station until retiring in 1981.
Ray was a lifelong member of St. Boniface Church, a member of American Legion Post 229 and VFW Post 5816 of Elgin, the Knights of Columbus, St. Boniface Maintenance Committee and Elgin Commercial Club. He was a past Trustee of St. Boniface Church and past President of St. Boniface School Board.   He enjoyed playing cards and traveling with his wife and longtime friends, Al and Mary Helen. One of the great joys Ray and Leora shared was the annual Christmas gift to their family members of a trip to Ponca State Park.
Ray is survived by his five children: Merle Dinslage and wife Mary of Papillion, NE; Bruce Dinslage and wife Mary Jo of Schuyler, NE; Carole Heitman and husband Lindsay of Omaha, NE; Pam Zabka and husband Kevin of St. James, MN; Lisa Schrage and husband Alan of Petersburg, NE; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Leora in 2010; four brothers: John, William, Frank and Edward; four sisters: Theresa Kerkman, Henrietta Zegers, Julia Zegers and Clara MeGhee; and two nieces: Joyce Dinslage and Donna Jean Stuhr.
