A Mass of Christian Burial for Ray W. Kallhoff, age 81, of O’Neill, will be at 10:30 A.M., Friday, August 16, 2013, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in O’Neill.
Graveside Services will be Friday at 2:30 P.M. at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Elgin, NE. Visitation will be Thursday, August 15, 2013, from 5-9 P.M., with an 8:30 P.M. Parish and Knights of Columbus Rosary at Biglin’s Mortuary in O’Neill.
He passed away Friday morning, August 9, 2013, at his home. Memorials may be made to the family’s choice.
He is survived by his wife Joan, 6 children; Jean Kallhoff Smith (Pat) Seattle, WA; Jarl Kallhoff (Sue) Seattle, WA; Linda Kallhoff of Shawnee, KS; Larry Kallhoff of Norfolk, NE; Glen Kallhoff of Omaha, NE; and Greg Kallhoff (Patsy) Wayne, NE; 3 Step Children; Jeanne Dittrich (John) Meadow Grove, NE; Kathy Turnbull of Lincoln, NE; and John Kerkman (Leslie) Oakdale, NE; 9 grandchildren; Breanna and Lindsey Kallhoff, Katie Moon, Jake Dittrich, Matthew, Mitchell and Emily Turnbull, and Max and Dana Kerkman, 2 Great Granddaughters; Kaylee and Emma Rose Turnbull, 4 Sisters; Mildred Fritz of Omaha, NE, Angela Fritz, of Tacoma, WA, Delores Welding of Elgin, NE, and Mariam Shabram of Neligh, NE, 6 Brothers; Melvin and Vincent, of Elgin, NE, Milton of Omaha, NE, Norman of O’Neill, NE, Dennis of Sioux City, IA, and Marvin of Gainesville, TX.
Ray was born on September 9, 1931 in Elgin, NE, to Theodore and Theresa (Reuss) Kallhoff. Ray married Caroline Moser in 1956 and had 6 children.
He married Joan Kerkman in 1992. He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 Brothers: Delbert, Darold, and Ted, and 1 Sister, Darlene.
Ray loved farming. He enjoyed Cornhusker sports especially football, and playing cards. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, and a past member of St. Mary’s School Board.
Fr. James Netusil and Fr. Ross Burkhalter will officiate.
