A public hearing was held on Monday March 4, 2019, at the Elgin City Hall.  Notice of said meeting had been posted at three places, namely, U.S. Post Office, Dean’s Market and the Elgin City Hall, as prescribed by law.
Purpose of said hearing was to discuss, with the downtown businesses, the water line, sidewalk, curb and gutter replacement planned for this summer.
Mayor Schmitt called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and announced the location of the Open Meeting Act.
Councilmen present were Duane Miller, Don Mackel and Jim Kittelson.  Councilman Mike Dvorak was absent.
Discussion was held with the downtown business owners regarding the replacement of the water main, sidewalks, curbs and gutters to be done this summer.
Hearing adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
The Elgin City Council met in regular session on Monday, March 4, 2019, at 8:01 p.m., pursuant to posted notice.  Mayor Schmitt called the meeting to order, and announced the location of the Open Meeting Act.

• Contract with Complete Pest Elimination for mosquito spraying with 5% discount
• To have a one day community clean-up with 2 dumpsters

• Placing ad for someone 16 years or older to mow and weed-eat this summer
• Request bids for 7000 gallons of CRS-2P armor coat oil
• Frozen water pipes due to cold weather
• January Sheriff’s Report—65 hours and 2 minutes and 4-911 calls
• Mr. Henderson helping Mr. Bartell with legal matters for Elgin
• Subdivisions and developer’s responsibility
• Sewer back issue
Next regular meeting will be held on Monday,  April 1, 2019
