2013-2014 Budget Hearing Minutes
The Elgin City Council held the 2013-2014 budget hearing on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at the Elgin City Hall. Notice of the said hearing had been posted in three places, namely, Elgin City Hall, Dean’s Market and the U.S. Post Office. Notice had also been published in the Elgin Review.
Mayor Schmitt called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and announced the location of the Open Meeting Act.
Council members present were Don Mackel, Shirley Nissen, Jim Kittelson and Kenny Jochum.
Staff present was Vicki S. Miller.
There was no public opinion either written or orally.
After reviewing the 2013-2014 budget, a motion was made by Jochum to adopt the 2013-2014 budget. A second to the motion was made by Kittelson. Roll call vote: Ayes; Nissen, Kittelson, Mackel and Jochum. There being four ayes and no nays, Mayor Schmitt declared the motion passed and adopted.
The budget hearing adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
Special Hearing Minutes
Mayor Schmitt called the hearing to order at 7:15 p.m. Council members present were Don Mackel, Shirley Nissen, Jim Kittelson and Kenny Jochum.
Staff present was Vicki S. Miller.
There was no public opinion either written or orally.
A motion was made by Mackel to pass Resolution 2013-6, a resolution setting the property tax request for 2013-2014 at $135,000.00. A second to the motion was made by Nissen.
Roll call vote: Ayes; Nissen, Kittelson, Mackel and Jochum. There being four ayes and no nays, Mayor Schmitt declared Resolution 2013-6 passed and adopted.
There being no further business to come before the Elgin City Council, Mayor Schmitt declared the hearing adjourned. The special hearing ended at 7:30 p.m.
