The Elgin City Council met in regular session on Monday, August 1, 2011, at 7:30 p.m., pursuant to posted notice. Mayor Schmitt called the meeting to order, and announced the location of the Open Meeting Act. Council members present were Shirley Nissen, Don Mackel, Jim Kittelson and Kenny Jochum.

• Contacting Rasmussen Land Surveying to survey all of Plantation Street

• Pool closing date of Sunday, August 14, 2011

• Keeping the pool open Monday through Friday from 5:30 until 8:00 and Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 until Sunday, August 28th.

Discussions were held:

• Bonding options for the fire storage building

• Plans and specs for the fire storage building

• Quick Claim Deed for a portion of Plantation Street

• Repairing water leaks and installing a culvert

• Campground Rentals

• Selling the old loader, patrol car and old pickup on Big Iron in October or November

• The tractor used for mowing

• Notifying the tree board regarding overhanging trees

• Pool Inspection

• Adult pool parties

•Meeting was adjourned at 9:15 p.m.
