Pope John Musical Coming Soon!

Students are busy in rehearsals for Pope John High School’s 2011 musical, SHOUT!

The Mod Musical. An unusually small cast this year resulted in finding an exciting, new show.

SHOUT! features the songs from the 60’s into the early 70’s, and takes us back to those days and the music that teenagers everywhere sang along with on their radios and record players. All of the more than twenty songs are recognizable, but a few of the more famous include “Downtown,” “To Sir with Love,” “Son of a Preacher Man,” “These Boots were Made for Walking” and of course, the title song.

Five girls, each known only by their colors lead the cast: Orange, Yellow, Green, Red and Blue. They sing solid 5-part harmony throughout most of the numbers, helped by two young ladies sharing the role of Gwendolyn Holmes, an advice columnist and a bass guitar playing narrator. Together they take us back to the early days of Rock and Roll when England really did swing. SHOUT! will take the stage in St. Boniface gym on April 1st , 2nd and 3rd. Don’t miss it!
