Pope John Final Volleyball Statistics

Pope John Central Catholic’s Lady Crusaders posted a 15-15 record during the 2009 volleyball season.

Coach Emily Borer’s team’s biggest accomplishment came in late October when they upended Ewing in four sets to place third at the NVC Tournament.

“2009 was a rebuilding year for Pope John,” Coach Borer said. “Coaching this team was both rewarding and challenging as we went through some highs and lows as any team does. The four seniors were the core of the team, but I’m really proud of the younger girls who came in and completed our team and made us very competitive in the NVC.

“Some of our highs were upsetting St. Mary’s and beating Ewing in the NVC tourney. That’s something our seniors worked hard to make happen. Sandi (Henn) and I are proud of all 25 girls, it really was a joy to coach this last group of Crusaders.”

Senior Kasi Stoltz led the team with 45 ace serves. She also was the statistical leader in set assists (512) and tips (78).
