This year the Elgin Pope John XXIII Central Catholic High School student body sold $115,000.00 worth of certificates/debit cards, an increase of $12,000 over last year. The result is a profit for the school of $11,500.00. Each year area grocers (Dean’s Market, Jo’s Market, Thriftway Market and Rae Valley Market) partner with Pope John for this fundraiser.
For each $100 of grocery certificates/debit cards sold, the buyer donates $5.00 to PJ, which is matched by the designated grocery store. Each family was asked to sell $ 800.00. The all-school goal was set at $ 80,000.00
