Petersburg’s Jeanette Henn Chosen for AMH ‘Caring Kind’ Award

Jeanette Henn, LPN, is the 2011 Caring Kind Award Winner of Antelope Memorial Hospital. She was recognized for the award on Thursday, May 12, during National Hospital Week.

Each year the Nebraska Hospital Association honors employees from hos-pitals across the state as “Caring Kind” em-ployees. The honored employee must exemplify the spirit of someone who gives that “something special” to others.

Jeanette was nominated and selected by her fellow AMH employees to win this prestigious award. Her nominations reflected the many positive qualities she brings to work each day.

Jeanette has been employed at Antelope Memorial Hospital for 23 ½ years as a LPN on the floor and part-time Nurse Coordinator. The past four years, she has also been actively involved in the implementation of electronic charting in nursing. In recent months, she has primarily focused on implementing CPOE (physicians and nurse practitioners placing orders by computer). AMH is one of the first rural hospitals in Northeast Nebraska to implement CPOE. Her work involved educating the staff, repeatedly re-evaluating the system and making adjustments as needed. She often spent hours on the phone with HMS in resolving “computer challenges” for both the nursing and medical staff as they integrated the new electronic system.
