VERDIGRE — It’s harvest time across Nebraska. The Wolfpack did some “harvesting” of their own Friday afternoon, scoring a bushel basket full of points in a 48 to 6 victory over Niobrara-Verdigre.
The victory, evening the Wolfpack’s record at 3-3, sets up a winner-take-all game with Neligh-Oakdale for the district title at Elgin Field (more about that later).
On a sun-splashed gridiron Friday afternoon, the Wolfpack scored three touchdowns in the first half and could have had more. However, three costly turnovers stopped Wolfpack drives, making the score 24 to 0.
“We’re on a roll right now,” Coach Randy Eisenhauer said. “The kids, they’ve done it in the trenches. We keep talking about ‘in the trenches’ and they did it again today.”
