NOTICE
ORDINANCE NO. 7-626 – 2013
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, NEBRASKA, TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 7-626 – 2011 OF THE OFFICIAL MUNICIPAL CODE; TO PROVIDE FOR THE MODIFICATION OF TRASH AND GARBAGE PICKUP RATES; TO PROVIDE WHEN THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT; AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE PUBLICATION OF THESE ORDINANCES IN ACCORDANCE WITH STATE LAW.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,NEBRASKA:
Section 1. That, pursuant Chapter 7, Article 4 of the Official Municipal Code of
the City of Elgin, the City provides curbside trash and garbage pickup to the residents and business owners of the city.
Section 2. That the City herein has established charges to be paid by each
person whose premises are served by the city solid waste collection system. That the
effective date for the application of the charges set forth herein shall be July 1, 2013.
Section 3. That such charges shall be:
1. Residential Rates:
a. One person residence: – – – – – – – – – – – – $11.75 per month
b. Two person residence: – – – – – – – – – – – – $12.75 per month
c. Three or more person residence: – – – – – $13.75 per month
2. Business / Commercial Rates:
a. Business without a dumpster and once (1) per week pickup: – – – – – – – – – – $13.75 per month
b. Business with a dumpster and once (1) per week pickup: – – – – – – – – – – $18.25 per month
c. Business with a dumpster and twice (2) per week pickup: – – – – – – – – – $36.25 per month
d. Apartment complexes where the apartment complex residents do not pay the City for trash pickup: – – – – – $36.25 per month
Section 4. That these Ordinances shall be in full force and effect from and after their passage, approval and publication as provided by state law.
Approved and passed by the governing body of the City of Elgin, Nebraska, this 4th day of November, 2013.
