O’Neill Eagles Down Wolfpack

O’NEILl — The Eagles made eight treys in the first half to build an insurmountable lead Saturday night, defeating the Wolfpack 65 to 51.
Derrick Hostert tossed in four treys and Charley Burtwistle added three in the first half as O’Neill built a 46 to 24 lead against the Wolfpack.
Both teams came out strong in the first quarter. Two treys by Andrew Heithoff and four points from senior Zach Polk kept the Wolfpack within striking distance as they trailed 23 to 14 after one quarter.
The second quarter was when the Eagles began to pull away as they outscored the Wolfpack 23 to 10. For the Wolfpack, Trent Hoefer and Kyle Heithoff each had four points in the quarter. At the other end of the court, Hostert had 12 points in the quarter.
