No Progress on Pumper Truck Replacement

The Elgin City Council Monday night heard from an insurance representative trying to resolve the issue of a fire truck no longer in service.

Jeff Climer, representing Ball Insurance who handles the insurance for Elgin’s fire and rescue vehicles, spoke at length to the Council about their 1975 pumper truck which is out of commission due to a pump freezing over the winter months. The truck is currently in Minnesota as a decision awaits whether to repair the truck, have the insurance company replace the truck, or pursue another option.

No decision was made as Climer said he would look further into the matter.
