A new office and a new responsibility.
Anna Meis was hired earlier this year to take over the duties as advancement director for Pope John Central Catholic. She assumed duties, previously held for the past 10 years by Kyle and Deb Warren, on Wednesday, July 1.
Since that day, she’s been working to become acclimated to the position.
On Friday morning, she sat down for an interview and one of the first things she did was to recognize the achievements of her predecessors, the Warrens.
“They’re amazing people,” she said, complimenting how they shared the position, each using different skills to serve the school in that position. “They did a great job. I want to take it a step further with my marketing background.”
Marketing is something Meis clearly understands. She graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a journalism advertising/marketing degree. She took those skills to Norfolk where she worked for several years at the Norfolk Daily News, then 11 years (the majority as marketing director) at Northeast Community College before starting her own business, Creative Revolution Marketing Agency in 2011.
While the Warren’s worked for Pope John in a full-time capacity, Meis’ position at Pope John is part-time, allowing her to continue with her business venture.
“I’m excited to get the message out,” she said about Pope John/St. Boniface schools. “When I first saw the ad for the job description I was excited.”
