Netters Sweep Triangular At Plainview

PLAINVIEW — Elgin Pub-lic-Pope John swept a pair of matches Saturday at the Plainview Triangular.
The Wolfpack boosted their record to 11-2 with victories over Plainview and West Holt.
Against Plainview, EPPJ claimed a 25-10, 25-18 victory.
The team recorded 25 kills in the match as they were 40 of 49 hitting. Junior Liz Selting led the way with nine kills, Jenna Parks had five followed by Terri Seier and Jill Schindler with three apiece, Amy Nelson had two while Grace Henn and Paige Meis each had one.
The Wolfpack were 41 of 42 from the service line with six aces. Parks led the way with two, Nelson, Nicki Payne, Henn and Baylee Wemhoff each had one.
Nelson was credited with two of the team’s four solo blocks, Schindler and Selting each had one.
Junior Jordan Mescher led the team in digs with six. Parks had the team-high in set assists with eight, Wemhoff had five.
Selting led the Wolfpack in serve receive with eight, Mescher had five and Parks was credited with three.
West Holt match
Against West Holt, the Wolfpack won in two games by the scores of 25-12 and 25-20.
EPPJ was credited with 27 kills in the match, Parks and Selting each had nine, Seier and Nelson each had three, Meis added two and, from the back row, Mescher had one.
Nelson had four of the team’s five ace serves, Selting had the other one.
Seier dominated the net with three solo blocks.
Mescher again led the team in digs with five, Nicole Beckman had four and Wemhoff added three, followed by Selting with two, Parks and Calli Krebs each had one.
Wemhoff was in double figures with set assists with 17, Parks had six and Payne was credited with two.
Mescher was the leader in serve receive with 13, Selting and Beckman each had six.
