Monica A. Penne, 88, of Columbus died Tuesday, June 28, 2011.
She was born March 11, 1923 at Elgin, NE to Jacob and Eleanor (Henkenius) Heil. She graduated from Elgin Public School in 1940.She was married to John J. Penne on January 17, 1952 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Elgin.
Monica worked several years at the Elgin drugstore. She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers.
She is survived by: Husband John Penne of Columbus; Son Douglas (Bev Walters) Penne of Lincoln; Daughter Susan Penne of Columbus; four Grandchildren: Andrea Glenn of Lincoln; Mrs. Wayne (Jill) Mortensen of Cleveland, Ohio; Elizabeth Penne of Lincoln; and Michael Penne of Lincoln; one Great Granddaughter Maggie Glenn of Lincoln; Brother Paul Heil of Covina, CA; Sister Mrs. Edward (Arlene) Eischeid of Elgin, NE; Sister Mrs. Robert (Rita) Wright of Denver, CO; Sister Mrs. Tom (Della) Zeimens of Chadron, NE; Sister Mrs. Edward (Eleanor) Starman of Elgin, NE; and Sister Mrs. George (Mary) Shoemaker of Denver, CO.
She is preceded in death by: Parents Jacob and Eleanor Heil.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, July 01, 2011, at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Columbus, NE.
Officiating was Rev. Joseph A. Miksch. Interment was at All Saints Cemetery.
McKown Funeral Home of Columbus was in Charge of arrangements.
