Marie W. Zwingman, 85 formerly of Raeville, NE passed away Monday, July 1, 2013 at St. Joseph Care Center in Norfolk.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Raeville, NE with Rev. Ross Burkhalter officiating.

Marie Wilhemina (Reestman) Zwingman was born on Sunday, June 17, 1928 to Gerhard and Agnes Reestman on the family farm at Raeville, NE. She was baptized at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Raeville. She attended St. John Berchman’s School at Raeville and graduated valedictorian in 1946. She attended Wayne State College to earn her teachers certificate and then taught four years in District 109, Mount Ayre rural school.
On September 28, 1954, she married Richard Louis Zwingman. Children born to this union were: LaVern, James and Janet. They lived on a farm northeast of Raeville until they moved to their home in Elgin, in July 1998. Richard passed away in November 1999 and Marie entered St. Joseph Care Center in Norfolk in 2004. It was there she passed away July 1, 2013 at age 85.
She was a member of St. Bonaventure Church, St. Bonaventure Christian Mothers and Raeville Quilters. Marie enjoyed cooking, quilting, sewing, crocheting, gardening, canning and decorating cakes. Above all, her true love was her family and church.
She is survived by three children and their families: LaVern Zwingman and friend Anne Hamman of Norfolk; Doris Zwingman of Norfolk; James Zwingman and wife Nancy of Elgin; Janet (Zwingman) Henseleit and husband Larry of Tilden; four grandchildren: Ryan Zwingman and wife Karissa of Norfolk; Amy (Zwingman) Powers and husband Ben of Omaha; Jamie and Lisa Henseleit of Tilden; two brothers: Ray (Catherine) Reestman of Elgin; Joe (Emily) Reestman of Elgin; a sister: Betty Ann (Jerome) Temme of Petersburg; and many nieces and nephews.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Richard; one brother Norbert; two sisters: Irene Camp and Alice Schmitz; two nephews and one niece.
