Margene R. Suhr, 65 of Elgin, NE passed away Sunday, October 14, 2012 at her home.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin, NE with Rev. David Kuhfal officiating and burial in the West Cedar Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Huffman-Levander Funeral Home in Elgin, NE.

Margene Rae Suhr, daughter of Nedker “Jack” and Thelma (Westeen) Wolhoy, was born August 10, 1947 at Vermillion, SD. She received her education at Meckling, SD, graduating in 1965. After graduation, she worked at the hospital in Yankton, SD.
On December 2, 1967, Marg was united in marriage with Dennis Suhr at the Lutheran Church in Yankton, SD. They first lived near Pleasant Dale, NE until moving to Whitman, NE in 1979. In, 1980, they moved to a ranch east of Bartlett, NE. Marg worked at the Imperial Grill in Neligh, NE as a cook. She also cooked at Kate’s Kitchen in Elgin, NE for many years, until retiring in 1997. Marg also cooked meals for workers at Wagonhammer East Ranch. In 2010, they moved to Elgin, NE.
Marg enjoyed cooking, working “Fill-in-the-Blank” books, crocheting, and most of all, spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband Dennis of Elgin, NE; three children: Thomas Suhr of Norfolk, NE; Joleen (Jerome Sr.) Koenig of Elgin, NE; Todd (Barb) Suhr of Columbus, NE; 10 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren on the way; two step-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Carol Lurz of Norfolk, NE; Connie Johnson of Lead, SD; one brother: Jackie (Mary Jo) Wolhoy of Clarinda, IA; along with many nieces, nephews, other relative and friends.
Marg was preceded in death by her parents, a brother in infancy, and a brother Gary Wolhoy.
